People come in all different kinds of sizes, shapes and colors. Though there are more dramatic contrasts of large and small, curvy and stick thin, black and white, I love the picture above. It's two people, whom I respect, supporting each other. I'm beginning to try to embrace that I will never be as petite as some people, never as thin as others, and never pull of the look wearing the rolled up skinny jeans and hipster glasses.
No matter short or tall, thin or fat, black or white, curvy or straight, it's who you are, and you should try to be the best person who you can be. Maybe you're a girl who doesn't have the 'skinny European look,' but you should work what you've got - because that's who you are, and you should embrace that. Embrace who you are, and be the best that you can be. As somebody who's felt too tall and too large naturally (even at my thinnest) I relate.
You're black, white, beige, chola descent
You're lebanese, you're orient
Whether life's disabilities
Left you outcast, bullied, or teased
Rejoice and love yourself today

To have a narrow conception of beauty is really unnecessary, counterproductive, and simply unwarranted. Whose to say a thin frame in more desirable? Or that olive skin is not as desirable as white? This may be a cliche, but I really do think that the media has definitely constrained our conception of beauty, and it's hasn't done so only in explicit ways. If the media only affected us with ADs, we could be aware of the kind of beauty that's conveyed, but it's that's not it. It's subtle and everywhere, from movies to TV shows, to YouTube bloggers. Naturally, for any minority, it's difficult to find people who represent their ethnic background, let alone somebody that they can relate do.
Be brave, keep an open-mind, and keep a progressive mentality of what beautiful means, and what beauty is. Embrace peoples' unique beauty, looks, and features. For we share the planet with more than 6,697,254,041 people across seven continents, five oceans, and countless states and principalities. How is it intellectually and rationally possible to define beauty for so many people in one narrow model?
Love Yourself.
