Vivek Oberoi's cousin desires make it to bollywood on his own merit

Vivek Oberoi's cousin desires make it to bollywood on his own meritActor Vivek Oberoi’s cousin brother Akshay Oberoi, who’s set to make his debut in Tinseltown, is taking pains to hide the fact that he’s related to the star. However, the fact came to light quite accidentally.

“I am Vivek Oberoi’s cousin. My father (Krishan) is the younger brother of Suresh Oberoi. But frankly, I don’t want to be known as Vivek’s cousin. We are separate people and I am stubborn about the fact that I want to do things on my own,” says Akshay Oberoi, whose father is one of the four Oberoi brothers.

Sources close to both the families state that the real reason for the debutant underplaying his relationship with the star is because Vivek has rubbed many people in the industry the wrong wayand is in the bad books of many Bollywood biggies.

“He (Akshay) doesn’t want to be branded as Vivek’s brother. Those in the family (and outside it) believe his career might get stunted if the Vivek connection comes to the fore. In fact, Akshay has also requested Sooraj Barjatya (the producer of his debut film) and the publicists to avoid highlighting the family connection,” says a source.

But prod Akshay Oberoi for the real reason, and he blames it on his stubborn streak. “I want to make it to Bollywood on my own merit,” he says. So did he attend his famous cousin brother’s wedding?

“I was busy working and could not attend his (Vivek’s) marriage. Dad went for his marriage. No, we don’t share any bad vibes, and I did wish Vivek and Priyanka (his newly-wed wife) after their wedding,” he’s quick to add.

Neeru Singh does bikini act again for Showtime

"Bollywood's new Sex Siren" is how the tinsel town hails the newcomer Neeru Singh. And she has every single reason to be called so for she is someone who can rightly be 'held responsible' for the fiery B.O. collections that her debut film Prince is witnessing now, in which she is paired opposite the heart throb Vivek Oberoi.

It's in this issue; the charming PYT goes on record to say, "My only concern was that I didn't want to look like a fat ass in the bikini. I would be strutting around in a bikini at any given time. I have no apprehensions of wearing it at all." Talking about her exit from TV, she explains, "I wasn't happy and I wasn't growing on TV so I decided to leave it. The money maybe good, but I never ran after that.

I was the only fool who left TV when I had just started making money." Talking about her love for films, Neeru adds, "I have been in love with films for as long as I remember. I practically used to watch three films everyday. I hardly went out and played and didn't have many friends. You could call me a screwed-up kid." All of this and much more, in the latest edition of Showtime!

Interview - Vivek Oberoi

One of the hottest actors of Bollywood, Vivek Oberoi started his career with hits like COMPANY, SAATHIYA and continued giving hits thereafter.

He made a niche for himself in the industry with films like YUVA, MASTI and OMKARA in his kitty in a very short span of time. However for quite some time his career was sliding down but the actor re-appeared in a commendable role in his last film KURBAAN.

However, Vivek will be soon seen making a solo come back in the forthcoming film PRINCE after a long hiatus. A Kumar Taurani Film, PRINCE is produced under the Tips Films and directed by debutant Kookie. V. Gulati.

PRINCE is a thrilling and fascinating tale full of twists and to know more, we had a conversation with the actor recently. Here are some excerpts.

PRINCE boasts of some thrilling action scenes. Tell us more about this film. The story of PRINCE is based on a quick-witted thief.

Who wakes up one morning to realize that he has a gunshot on his arm and has absolutely no clue about how he gets it and he also can't remember who he is. However, he does

"I'll be seen in a new avatar in PRINCE" finds out that his name is Prince and he used to work for a person named Sarang and also that his girlfriend's name is Maya. This is my solo film after a long time and I'm hoping for positive results.

How was it working with the makers of film RACE? I would love to thank Mr. Kumar Taurani for making this film brilliant. He has made several top notch films under the Tips films banner but PRINCE is surely going to be a different one compared to what you've seen before!

So what makes it different from other action-cum-thriller films? Well all the action scenes have been shot beautifully by debutant director Kookie. V. Gulati. Moreover, most of the action scenes in the film have been made in Hollywood style which the audience will be seeing for the first time.

Since it's an out-n-out action flick do we see you competing with the action guru Akshay Kumar in PRINCE?
Hey, Akshay Kumar is god and incomparable. But I confess I've done some dare devilry stunts in my film which I had never done before. PRINCE is my first action film and will showcase me in a new avatar. It's a story that could be every man's fantasy and every man's nightmare.

The 3 actresses are adding some extra glamour to this film. What do you've to say about the 3 hot beauties? They are wonderful girls to work with. We used to have a blast during the shoot and of course all 3 of them are really good looking! A little birdie told us about a hot steamy kissing scene between you and Aruna Shields. How many re-takes of this scene happened or did it come naturally?

Well if you know, this was my first kissing scene ever so obviously it didn't come out naturally and we had to do some re-takes. Tell us about your upcoming films? I'm currently doing Ram Gopal Varma's film RAKTA CHARITRA and two other films are in pipeline.
