Akshay Kumar vows to kill the man who hurts Kapoor
In the supposition of the macho character, Sonam who is depicting one of her more develop roles is so true blue in her exhibition that she is determined to have the crowd react zealously to her tears and roar. Granted that, the character had some antagonistic things to state about several of her co actors, as per Akshay, Sonam is one of the sweetest ones consistently highlighting her internal marvelousness. Akshay showed the stature of his gallantry and defense with the idiom that if a man damages her, he will head over to the degree of executing him.
While such hyperboles may sound clichéd, they often become a part of the promotional preceding the release of a film. But in spite, of the overstatement involved Akshay Kumar is always known for his amiability and helpfulness. This is especially true of the new brand of heroines who are too young for him. In the industry marked by jealousy and cut throat competition such gestures are always welcomed. But we hope he means what he says. At least he will have the golden opportunity to kill one such man. Guess who?

Sonakshi to star opposite Akshay in Prabhudeva's directorial venture
Post Dabangg, Sonakshi Sinha's career is certainly on a roll. While she bagged the 'Best Debutant Award' at all the leading award functions, she is also bagging some really plum projects.
Even as she begins her shoot for Shirish Kunder's Joker opposite Akshay Kumar from next week, the pretty lass has already signed another film opposite the Khiladi Kumar. Sonakshi would be seen opposite Akshay in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's home production to be directed by Prabhudeva. Surely this girl is going places and how!

Akshay & Anushka joins reality show 'CHAK DHOOM DHOOM'
Former Pakistan paceman Wasim Akram, ex-England captains Nasser Hussain and Graham Gooch, South Africa batsman Herschelle Gibbs and Australia all-rounder Andrew Symonds all feature in "Patiala House", which is to be released on Friday.
The film stars Akshay Kumar, an actor noted more for his action hero roles than his skills with the bat and ball, and tracks tensions between a traditional Punjabi father and his son in the west London suburb of South hall.
"My character Gattu wants to be a cricketer but his family is opposed to it. So, I am trapped between my ambition and my father. He wants me to work in his shop whereas I want to play cricket for England," Kumar told reporters.
Director Nikhil Advani said authenticity was essential with cricket providing the backdrop for the immigrant family drama. Southall has one of the highest concentrations of people of South Asian origin outside the sub-continent.
The script is reminiscent of Gurinder Chadha's 2002 hit "Bend It Like Beckham", set in nearby Hounslow with Parminder Nagra as the second-generation Sikh girl who defies her parents' wishes to play football.
"The film is about a cricketer's life and therefore we have taken many cricketers as actors so that we can get a real look for the film," said Advani.

Anushka & Akshay going Dubai
A new year can only mean a new wave of red carpet celebrity events that Dubai is known and loved for. The latest star-studded premiere to feature here is Wednesday’s screening of the Bollywood film “Patiala House”, where walking the red carpet at Grand Cineplex, Wafi City will be powerhouse Akshay Kumar, along with co-star Anushka Sharma and veteran actor, Rishi Kapoor.
Kumar, of course, isn’t new to the world of Dubai premieres, who was here last year for the screening of his film “Action Replayy”, which was preceded by a family holiday that saw him and wife Twinkle Khanna hole up in The One and Only Royal Mirage for some rest and relaxation.
Sharma may not have clocked the same number of air miles like Kumar, but hot on the heels of her hit, “Band Baaja Baarat”, the three-film old actress appears to have garnered a fan following in her short stint in Bollywood.
Spot the stars. So where should one position themselves with their cameras you ask? The duo, along with Kapoor and singer Hard Kaur, will kick off the day’s proceedings with a media event at 11am at the Le Meridien Airport Hotel.
Security is expected to be tight, so rather than being bounced around by some burly bouncers, we would suggest a drive down to Insportz indoors cricket club in Al Quoz Industrial 3 at 1pm, where the stars will make time for photo ops while a nail biting match kicks off, featuring teams Kumar and Sharma.
If you still happen to miss the action, then the duo’s next stop is the Al Noor Centre for Special Needs at 6pm, followed by a mall visit at Lamcy Plaza at 7pm.
Phew! And if you thought that was it, think again. The stars will then descend on to Grand Cinemas at 7.45pm (let’s hope traffic isn’t a killer) for more photo ops before the film commences.
And if your luck has been terrible thus far and you have yet to catch a glimpse of the celebs, then head to It’s Mirchi nightclub at Ramee Royal, Bur Dubai where Kumar and Sharma, along with Hard Kaur will groove to the beats of “Patiala House”.
The story so far. Directed by Nikhil Advani, the film’s release has been timed perfectly to coincide with the buzz surrounding the ICC World Cup Cricket, which kicks off on February 19.
Set in London, “Patiala House”, sees Kumar juggle the contradictory role of a shopkeeper from Southall respecting his traditionalist father, played by Kapoor, while pursuing his dream to play cricket for England.
Aside from seeing his real-life mother-in-law, Dimple Kapadia play his reel-mom in the movie, “Patiala House” also features cricketers from the England, Australia, South Africa, India and Pakistan teams including three former England Captains – David Gower, Nasser Hussain and John Emburey. Kumar’s production house, Hari Om Entertainment Company has backed the movie, along with People Tree Films and T-Series.

Music channel attempting to sabotage Patiala House?
Says a trade follower on condition of anonymity, "This is much more than just apparent and really, all of it is happening in bad taste. There are capsules being run which are filled with out and out negative sentiments against the film, its lead actor (Akshay Kumar), it's director (Nikhil Advani) and it's co-producer (Bhushan Kumar from T-Series). It appears there is an entire tirade against the film.
Those who have seen these capsules can pretty much see a one way campaign which is entirely anti-Patiala House. Whether is it the promos or the music, everything is being ridiculed.
"It is nothing short of being childish actually", continues the trade follower, "The fact remains that the channel has been having issues with T-Series for quite long now. Due to their stand off, none of the software of this music company is currently being run there. Now since T-Series pretty much has a monopoly over the software, the music channel is left without any content for it's 24X7 service."
Resultantly, over a period of time, the TRPs of this music channel has plummeted to an all time low, hence resulting in other rival channels taking the lead. This has resulted in a vendetta like situation with Patiala House finding itself in the middle of all the mayhem.
"This is sad", says another trade observer, "Also, this is not the first time when the channel has kick started a campaign like this. Even in case of Tees Maar Khan, it had called it a flop two weeks prior to its release while also quoting the losses to be in the range of Rs. 20-30 crores. The channel had its own weird calculations to show which came without any basis."
Now this time around the attack is full frontal with no one associated with the film being spared. In the name of comments coming from the 'aam junta' (who have seemingly been 'interviewed' around the prospects of Patiala House), it pretty much appears to be 'feeding' job where there seem to be clear instructions around going out and out negative.
"Well, it is nothing short of mischief because the facts are totally on the contrary", says the follower, "It is being said that Akshay is repeating his act when the fact is that it is years after Ek Rishta that he is actually playing a sober family man to the core in Patiala House. Music is being said to be a downer when the fact is that it is doing very well. The promotion is said to be lackluster when the fact is that it has been intelligently laid out so that audience expectation are totally different from what they usually expect from an Akshay Kumar starrer. As for the commercial appeal, Patiala House has been made on a modest budget in a partnership mode which means that it is safe on the table itself."
With the trade being confident about Patiala House continuing the golden run that 2011 has been enjoying so far after the success of No One Killed Jessica, Yamla Pagla Deewana, Dhobi Ghat and Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji, one waits to see what's next that the music channel has in stores for weeks to come!

Akshay Kumar is spending considerable time with Katrina Kaif
And boy, is Katrina getting clued in! Let's hear it, Sheila ki zubaani (voice). "I've to admit I couldn't have hoped for a more fun teacher than Akshay. I come from a place where I can't gush about how I grew up on a staple diet of Sholay and Mughal-e-Azam. Akshay knows it all. He is completely clued into the cult of potboilers and can mimic every actor and act out every famous sequence. Being with him over the last few weeks, I am finally getting knowledgeable about Hindi movies.
The games of Dumb Charade are being played between bouts of promotion on cars and flights in several cities across the country. Akshay and Katrina have hired a private plane for the 12-city 25-day tour. "So we get a lot of time to play Dumb Charade. By the time the promotions for Tees Maar Khan are over, I think I'll be an expert on Bollywood trivia," Katrina has her fingers crossed.
The education works both ways. While Akshay acts out scenes from Hindi films during Dumb Charade, Katrina mimes magical moments from Hollywood films for Akshay. "So I guess we are both learning on the job," she chuckles.

Akshay Kumar: Canada is paradise on earth
"What you are going to see in 'Tees Maar Khan' is total entertainment. It is a Bollywood masala movie which will appeal to everyone,'' said the actor. The film is due for release next week. In the film, directed by Farah Khan and jointly produced by his wife Twinkle Khanna, Akshay plays a con man named Tabrez Mirza Khan, with Katrina in the role of his girlfriend Anya.
"I play the role of an uneducated con man who plans to rob a train containing 10,000 kg of antiques. The script is so good that all characters come along with me and I am conning all of them. I rob the train with their help but no one among them knows that they are helping me,'' said Akshay Kumar, rating Katrina as his favourite actress.
The actor credited Farah Khan with doing an excellent job of directing the film. "She did a great job. Because of its excellent script, the film has created new 'muhawara' (idiom) in dialogue,'' he said, reciting a few lines used in the film. About his own role, he said, "I have been an entertainer for the past 22 years. I have done it in this film and will keep doing it in the future.''
Asked why he chooses Canada more than other countries for shooting and releasing his films, he said he has fallen in love with this country. "I love Canada since I did my first film here 17-18 yeas ago. I have been here hundreds of times, but every time I love coming here again. I tell people in India that if they want to see 'jannat' (heaven) on this planet, they should visit Canada,'' said the actor who is currently serving as a brand ambassador in India for the Canadian Tourism Commission.
The star, who finished shooting his first Hollywood film 'Break Away' here some time ago, said, "The film will be released in May-June. We have sold its distribution rights to Alliance Atlantis."Shot in Toronto, the film revolves around Canada's national game ice hockey to address issues of cultural conflicts among new immigrants to this country.
Asked whether Bollywood standards were declining, he said, " No, Bollywood's standards are going up. While they used to release up to 500 prints, now these numbers are up to 2,500.''
He also expressed ignorance about his role in Deepa Mehta's proposed film "Komagata Maru". "I don't know anything about the film. Nobody has approached me.''Asked to rate his favourite hero and heroine, he said, "I like watching Sanjeev Kumar...... and Katrina Kaif."

Katrina Kaif: I drew persuasion from Shakira
Bollywood performer Katrina Kaif declares she drew motivation from pop star Shakira for the sizzling item song Sheila Ki Jawani from her upcoming picture Tees Maar Khan. When required by news hounds here about connections from her move in the superhit number with that of Shakira, she declared she would only be able to dream of such connections.
"I can only dream of such comparisons. To be very frank, I drew inspiration from her. If my dance in the song Sheila ki Jawani reminds the viewers of Shakira, it's a huge reward for me," said Katrina Kaif, who was in Kolkata with her Tees Maar Khan co-star Akshay Kumar for the promotion of the film. She was all praises for director Farah Khan and gave her the credit for the grand success of the song.
"We have worked hard for the song. But the credit goes to Farah and her conceptualisation of the song. She is a brilliant choreographer," the actress said. Tees Maar Khan, directed by Farah, is slated to release on Dec 24. It has already hit the headlines for its scorching item song Sheila Ki Jawani featuring Katrina. Asked about her role, Katrina said she is not so bold in the film as it seems from Sheila Ki Jawani.
"My role is of an aspiring actress. She is not so very aggressive as it looked in the song. She is very naive and sweet. She is Akshay's girlfriend in the film. She lands herself into trouble because of her own stupidity. It's a fun kind of a character," the actress said.
The movie revolves around Tarbez Mirza Khan, a criminal played by Akshay, and his girlfriend Anya played by Katrina who gets the job of robbing antiques worth Rs 500 crore from a heavily guarded moving train. The film is an action comedy.

Katrina Kaif: There's no top secret to my science with Akshay
"Its the familiarity that works. I have spent about 500 days or so shooting with Akshay in the last five years and I think there is no secret to our chemistry. Its good because Akshay has that certain amount of trust and confidence in me," Katrina said.
The hit Bollywood pair was liked by audience in many films like Humko Deewana Kar Gaye, Namastey London, Welcome, Singh is Kinng and De Dana Dan. "In the first year Akshay was like ...Hi, good morning want a hug. In the second year, it was good morning. Third year was morning. Fourth year, it was a smile and now it is 'What's the shot'. We trust and respect each other. Also, now that we are familiar with each other so we tend to drop all the formalities," the 26-year-old actress said.
Katrina also said that they were not typical buddies. "We don't talk on the phone. We are not buddy types. If I am not working with him, its not like I ask him how are you and all. Sometimes the charm is lost when it is overdone," she said.
Tees Maar Khan, an action-comedy stars Akshay and Katrina Kaif in the lead and Akshaye Khanna in a cameo. Salman Khan and Anil Kapoor make special appearances in the film, which is releasing on December 24.
The movie is about a criminal who is "fearless and shameless", and is known as Tees Maar Khan. "In the movie, Akshay plays the role of a conman and I play his love interest. She is a wannabe actress called Anya," Katrina said.

Boollywood 'Khiladi' is a hard and fast professor in luck
It was after this that he immediately got a break in films. Another luck factor that changed his life completely was a Baht, a currency note from Bangkok which he had received from a customer in the restaurant in which he was working. He always treasures this note and have decided never to spend it. This shows that he is an all out believer in luck.

Twinkle shows up on the cover of the November issue of Harper's Bazaar
On styling, Twinkle says Akki: "I take full credit for his style; what's nice is that he likes to experiment. He has more shoes than I do, and gets bored of wearing a black shirt with trousers. He likes me to oversee his wardrobe, especially for an event. If it's for a show, we discuss the look together. He also takes interest in the way I look. So does my son. My husband has comments on everything I wear.
When asked if she ever misses acting, the lady says, "I have not missed it for a single day. I hated every minute of it. I might have enjoyed my last two movies only because I knew I was quitting (in 2001). I have a job that I love and sometimes dream about. That never happened to me with acting. And I don't even think I was a good actress."
