Sonakshi won't share her item with Minissha

ACCORDING to the grapevine, not all is well between Sonakshi Sinha and Minissha Lamba, both of whom are starring in Shirish Kunder's Joker, an upcoming fantasy film that will also star Akshay Kumar.



Sources claimed that after Lamba heard about Sinha's item number that would be choreographed by Farah Khan (Kunder's wife), she requested the director that she be made a part of it.



The fact that Sinha would be doing an item number has already created quite a stir in the media.



However, Sinha insisted that Lamba be kept out of the song and Kunder in order to make peace had to reportedly promise Lamba a music video for the film instead.



A source said Lamba was right to feel jittery about Sinha's item number.



"After the way Zarine Khan walked away with all the attention in Ready with just one item song, stealing Asin's thunder, and with Kareena having to put her foot down with regards to Katrina's item song in Bodyguard, Minissha wanted to take no chances. That's why she asked Shirish to include her in the number, " he said.



When contacted, Kunder said, "Yes, Minissha did express a desire to be in the item song. I'd have loved her to be part of it.



Unfortunately, her character is not supposed to be introduced at the stage the item song appears in the film. I have, however, promised that I'll shoot a special music video with her."



Minissha Lamba was, however, evasive when asked why she wasn't part of the song. "I don't know about all that. It's a creative call taken by the director, " she said.

Sonakshi Sinha proves Curves are Beautiful

Sonakshi Sinha’s weight issues will now have to take a back seat as the actress has decided to prove to all the finger-pointers that curves are indeed beautiful! She is now all set to appear in Shirish Kunder’s film ‘Joker’ where she does a sizzling hot dance number.



Sonakshi herself admits that she has weight issues but she openly claims that she does not believe that one needs to be stick thin to create a stand in the industry.



It’s not that she does not have to work hard to maintain her body. The actress said, “I work hard to maintain myself and always try to look better…. Also if I have been accepted for the way I look, why would I do anything to change it? There is pressure from a lot of people, but that’s not what my audience wants. I’m happy with the way I look.”



She also rubbished rumours about Shirish’s demand that she loses weight. She clarified saying, “If it were true, I wouldn’t have five films lined up,” says the Dabangg actress.



Just recently at the Lakme india Fashion Week, many including her fans had commented on her ‘plump’ look on the ramp. In fact, Rakhi Sawant wrote on her blog that she can help out Sonakshi in losing some pounds.

Sonakshi Sinha's item song for `Joker

Sonakshi Sinha is all set to shake her booty in an item number for Shirish Kunder’s `Joker` starring Akshay Kumar. The `Dabangg` hottie does not believe in slapping the term “item number” on songs that are meant for dance. Though it was wondered if Sonakshi’s weighty woes would ever be able to do justice to an “item number”, the girl is confident of carrying herself in the best possible way. So, Sona is gung-ho about proving people wrong.

Sinha grooves with Singh at Toronto

These days luck is not in Anushka Sharma’s favour. Her weekend began on a bad note and this kept getting worse.

Firstly, she had to fly to Toronto alone as Ranveer Singh was not free. Secondly, at the last moment she was replaced by Sonakshi Sinha to dance along with Ranveer at the event.

Despite her rehearsals, the organizers felt that Sonakshi was better than Anushka. The organisers stated that they did not want to take a chance as Anushka Sharma was not that well prepared.

The newbie had confessed on a television show about her crush on Ranveer Singh. She also stated that provided Ranveer is single she will love to date him.

Finally, Sonakshi Sinha gets Ranveer Singh. Things turned worse when actress Lisa Ray mispronounced Anushka’s name as Anushka Shankar.

She was immediately corrected by Karan Johar. Things changed when Ranveer after accepting the award thanked Anushka for making him hot.

Govinda takes credit for Sonakshi's weight loss

While Sonakshi has been giving Salman credit for her weight loss, Govinda says even he deserves mention...

It's all in good humour. Sonakshi Sinha was known to be obese before she became an actress, and the tale is that it's Salman Khan who convinced her that she would be actress material if she lost all that weight. And lose she did.

However, actor Govinda says that he had told Sonakshi a long time ago, probably even before Salman, to pull down weight and if she did that she was on her way to success. It can be remembered that even Govinda's daughter Narmada Ahuja is keen to become an actor.

Govinda doesn't compare his beti with Sonakshi. "Each makes their own way, I'm happy for Sonakshi and her success. At the same time it's absolutely ok that it's taking time for Narmada. Things will happen when they have to," he said nonchalantly.

Sinha dazzles at Pantaloons Femina Miss India 2011

Sonakshi Sinha had the audience drooling with her scintillating dance performance during the Pantaloons Femina Miss India 2011 show on April 16. The 23-year-old Joker star flaunted her curves in a sparkling midriff baring black dress teamed with black pumps and oversized hoop earrings. Her opening act was dancing to yesteryear's song Chura Liya, followed by Darling and Kajra Re. Sonakshi's svelte figure and impressive dancing skills at the show are sure to heighten fan expectations about her item song in Joker - "dance karle english mein aur nach le tu hindi mein!"

Other Bollywood performers of the evening included Anushka Sharma, Malaika Arora Khan and Sonu Sood. Music band SQS and Hard Kaur regaled audiences with their captivating music. TV actors Gaurav Kapoor, Sushant Singh Rajput, Harshad Chopra and Gaurav Chopra were the additional entertainers of the evening. Comedians Krushna, Ali Asgar and Kapil Sharma had the audience in splits. The finalists were judged by Kangna Ranaut, Dino Morea, Fardeen Khan, Urmila Matondkar, Ritu Kumar, Shiamak Davar, Leander Paes, Tarun Mansukhani and Sajid Nadiadwala. The winner of Pantaloons Femina Miss India' 2011 will represent India at the global pageant later this year The recorded show will air on Sony Entertainment Television on April 24 at 8:00 pm.

Sinha and Dara Singh having fun

The shooting of Joker is proving to be a fun time for Sonakshi Sinha and Vindoo Dara Singh. In between shots, the duo would play Scrabble on an iPad. Though the Dabangg actress is very good at the game, Vindoo isn't too bad either. He says, "It is always like picnic shooting with Akshay Kumar for a movie. When we would play Scrabble on the sets, she'd always win. But she agrees with me that I give her a good fight like no one else could on the set.

Directed by Kunder 'Joker', is an fantasy adventure film made in 3D format in Hindi, stars, Akshay Kumar, Sonakshi, Shreyas Talpade and Minnisha in pivotal roles.

The film that is being jointly produced by Kunder and Farah's Three's Company and Akshay Kumar's Hari Om Entertainment Company, is slated to release in December this year.

Khan won't get intimate with Sinha

Seems like Salman Khan doesn't want to touch Sonakshi Sinha! No, the actor is not repulsed by her; he has only refused to shoot an intimate scene with the Shotgun girl in Sajid Nadiadwala's next. Buzz is that Salman froze after watching the love making scenes between Ravi Teja and Ileana D'Cruz and asked for the scenes to be modified immediately.

Salman has always been rather cautious about such scenes and when it comes to Sonakshi Sinha, who is over 2 decades younger to him, he is extremely protective and cautious. A source told, "Salman has always been very careful as far as romantic scenes are concerned. But with Sonakshi he has to be doubly careful. He treats her like a child. There was almost no physical intimacy between him and Sonakshi in Dabangg."

Now an expert has been summoned to modify the scene. Rajat Arora, who wrote the romantic sequences in Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai, will be making the necessary changes."Salman was impressed by the way Ajay courted Kangna in Once Upon A Time…He wanted a similar restrain and mellow quality in his courtship with Sonakshi in Kick," the source added.

The producer of the film, Nadiadwala confirmed that Rajat Arora is on board and that love making scene would have to be restrained to suit Salman and Sonakshi's equation.

Sinha want to sort out the situation with Kaif

Sonakshi Sinha wants to sort out the problem with Katrina Kaif. Sources close to Kat reveal that she believes the Dabangg girl is feeding the media with stories about how she has replaced 'Sheila' in at least three commercials and some films.

There is no competition or connection between the two girls except Salman Khan. While Kat is his ex-girlfriend, Sonakshi is his current blue-eyed girl. When Shotgun's beti heard about her senior's ire, she decided to connect with her and sort out the misunderstanding. She messaged Kat and offered to explain her side of the story, but the Tees Maar Khan actress hasn't reverted. It is clear that Kat is in no mood to forgive or forget. Excerpts...

Tell us about your peace offering. I texted her on Wednesday to sort things out. I wanted to make it clear from my side that I had nothing to do with the stuff being written about us. Pull out any of my interviews and you will see that never have I used the word 'replaced'. This war has been created. The fact is that she has worked hard to reach where she is today and no one can take that away from her and that is what I texted her. As of now, I haven't got a reply.

If she hasn't done so, it means she is still mad at you, right? I don't think so. She could be travelling or could be super busy. I'm not jumping to any conclusions. I'll still wait for her reply. I have made myself clear.

What made you text her? I was reading reports that she was upset and so I wanted to clear the air. It's stupid to be part of a war that you haven't started and are not even aware of. It's annoying because it upsets both people who are being written about. My text was just intended to be my clarification. I'm being respectful towards my senior.

Is your proximity to Salman the problem? I don't know why it should become an issue. We both have different connections with him. Salman is a family friend. We have known each other for ages now. My father worked with Salim Khan. We go back a long way. With her it's a totally different connection. Just because I started my career with him is no reason to fuel tension.

What about the sudden spurt of negative articles about you? I don't think Katrina is doing it. It's a part of our job. People love sensationalism and stories of competition. She is a huge star and my first film has been a huge hit and I'm somewhere today. People need something to talk about.

Kaif upset over Sinha's false claims?

Newbie Sonakshi Sinha is making more enemies than friends in the industry. News has it that she has miffed Katrina Kaif big time. Apparently, Kat has not been too pleased with the ‘Dabangg’ hottie’s claims.Junior Shotgun has been telling one and all about how she has replaced queen bee Katrina as the brand ambassador of numerous products. But according to sources close to Katrina, Sonakshi hasn’t replaced the ‘Tees Maar Khan’ star. The truth is that Katrina`s contract with these products had either expired or she was not even their brand ambassador.

The two ladies also have another common factor between them-Salman Khan. Both the actress have been launched by the magnanimous star. And the ex-ladylove of Sallu never approved of his fondness for Sonakshi. Well, Katrina has nothing to lose as she is at a good place in her career today, but the big question is, can Sonakshi afford to have enemies in the industry so early in her career? Sonakshi Sinha better watch out.

Sinha: I am not replacing Kaif

Yet there’s no denying that the girl who debuted with the super duper hit film Dabangg last year is the preferred choice for various product brands nowadays, so much so that she has replaced Katrina Kaif as the ambassador for the fashion and apparel brand Provogue.

Sonakshi was announced as the new brand ambassador of Provogue at Yash Raj Studios in Andheri. Speaking at the function, Sonakshi said: “I am not really replacing anyone. I am just filling in a space that was empty for long. But yes, I'm enjoying it a lot.

When asked about her equation with Katrina, the brand’s previous ambassador, Sonakshi said: “I've met Katrina quite a few times and we do not discuss this. They (the likes of Katrina) have been around for quite some time now I hope I will be there.”

No doubt the girl is brimming with confidence. After all, she’s got some big movies coming up: Joker with Akshay Kumar and a film with Kamal Haasan. Way to go girl!

Sonakshi maintained her silence

Although Sonakshi Sinha has been signed on opposite Kamal Haasan, a living legend, for director Selvaraghavan’s next film, she has maintained her silence about it for quite some time. Now when it is out in the open that she is indeed the heroine in the movie, which is said to be a remake of Hollywood film Hannibal, Sonakshi has again maintained her reservations for working with this veteran actor. She has clearly rejected doing intimate kisses and steamy scenes with the actor, disappointing the script which had a few intimate scenes.

However, knowing that she does not have the flair for Tamil and Telegu language, Shatrughan Sinha has been giving her some advice on how to cover that up by being natural onscreen.

A source revealed, Sonakshi was the first and last choice for the role because the Kamal Hassan was mighty impressed by her village belle act in Dabangg. So, a few cuts and chops didn't make much difference but the star cast remained the same. On being asked about her 33 years age difference with the actor, Sonakshi said "Once you are on the sets in front of the camera, your age should not matter. I will be respectful but an equal on the sets with Kamal Haasan."

Right now she plans to watch Kamal Haasan's movie Hey Ram and minutely study Vasundhara Das who had also played the role his wife in that movie. The Sinha girl is seeming to be taking full advantage of her lineage and a successful debut and her silences and reservations are being taken care of. What else can she ask for?

Sonakshi Sinha is the new face of Fem Bleaches

Sonakshi Sinha gets Kamal Haasan's eyes

Sonakshi Sinha is filling up her kitty with plump projects pretty fast and has already replaced Katrina Kaif in one of the soap endorsements. Now she has caught the eyes of the south Indian superstar Kamal Haasan. It is being reported that the ‘Chachi 420’ actor wants to cast the one film old actress in a film that would be made by a production house based in Hyderabad.

The film that Kamal Haasan has in mind to do with Sonakshi is an adaptation of the Hollywood film ‘Hannibal’, which had Sir Anthony Hopkins. The film is said to be directed by Selvaraghavan and Sonakshi has been approached to play the role that was played by Julianne Moore in the original flick. It is reported that Selvarghavan will go to Chandigarh to meet the ‘Dabangg’ star to give her the narration of the film.

Sonakshi is in Chandigarh along with Akshay Kumar and the rest of the cast and crew of Surish Kunder’s film ‘Joker’. The buzz is that the Hollywood inspired film will be modified so that it will appeal to the taste of India and will be made in Tamil primarily and later on it might be released into Hindi and Telugu versions too. This one actress is really riding high on her success and has taken the film industry by storm.

Sonakshi Sinha: From a stout looker to a trimmed shocker

Salman Khan’s ‘Dabangg’ co-star Sonakshi Sinha is the latest thing that has taken Bollywood by storm. She is the same actress who set the male pulses racing in her maiden film as a coy demure village lasso.

However, surprising it may sound but Sonakshi was not always the head-turner that she presently is. Only till a year back, she was quite a plump girl and she was not quite fit for playing the glam doll in Bollywood flicks. It is her first television ad campaign. Sonakshi Sinha is happy that she is Katrina Kaif’s successor as the face of Dyna soap and says it was a lot of fun getting into the bathtub for it.

Sonakshi and Katrina are incidentally both Salman Khan’s protegees and the ‘Dabangg’ newcomer insists there’s no tension between them. Sonakshi is full of admiration for her senior and doesn’t think she has replaced Katrina in the Dyna soap ad.

‘Katrina had done the Dyna campaign many years back and they haven’t had a brand ambassador after her. So like every brand and celebrity move on, so have Dyna and Katrina. She has moved to Lux. I’ve come in to Dyna, simple!’

‘Not every newcomer gets to represent one of the highest-selling soaps in the country,’ she said. What was it like shooting the campaign, specially since it required Sonakshi, who made her debut as a village belle, to get into a bathtub?

‘It was good fun. The team was excellent and the shoot went off smoothly. I wasn’t the least self-conscious about the way it was shot. It’s a very aesthetically shot ad. It was completely in my comfort zone,’ she said. ‘Just getting into a bathtub doesn’t mean one has to be unaesthetic,’ Sonakshi added.

Hot and happening Sonakshi Sinha kicks out Katrina

With Dabangg’s humongous hit, Sonakshi Sinha is surely the hot and happening lady of Bollywood right now. She is not only being chased by film producers but also by brands to make her the face of their product.
Sonakshi Sinha replaced Katrina Kaif as the brand ambassador of Dyna soap and that is not a mean feat for an actress with one release to her credit to date. Sonakshi says it was a lot of fun getting into the bathtub. She rubbed off the rumors that there is a cold war running between her and Katrina.

“Katrina Kaif has endorsed this soap few years ago and now I’ve come in. There is nothing much to see into it. I am happy to be a brand ambassador for the product to which Katrina worked for,” Sonakshi Sinha said.
