Katrina still needs Salman in times of distress!

Katrina Kaif might have spent close to eight years in the industry, but the actress still needs to work her way from problems she lands herself into. Recently, she was charged by an institutional body for non compliance regarding a certain system of work among artists in Bollywood, when Salman Khan intervened much to the relief of our dame in distress.

Katrina still needs Salman in times of distress!Kat was sent summons from FWICE (Federation of Western India Cine Employees) and a shoot of her deodorant commercial at Mehboob Studios was halted. She is yet to fill the required forms and sign up for membership.

Apparently, it is mandatory for every working actor to be registered with the organisation. A source revealed, "Some members from the body came and stopped the shoot. They wanted to know her registration number, but since she hasn`t completed the legalities, they issued her a warning and asked her to comply with the rules. A visibly upset Kat was disturbed by the entire episode."

Calls were made and it was only when Salman personally gave assurance that she would complete the registration, did they allow the shoot to continue. Dinesh Chaturvedi, President-FWICE said, "We didn`t halt the shoot, but we wanted to know why Katrina still isn`t a member of our organisation. I understand she has a busy schedule, but it doesn`t take that long to finish the formalities. Everyone from Amitabh Bachchan to Shah Rukh Khan has registered with us."

He added, "I did get a call from Salman bhai saying that the needful will be done. I am speaking only for the benefit of the actors who aren`t registered. Since Katrina is the only big star who doesn`t have the card, we wanted to know how we could help her out."

Chaturvedi further said that the card only costs Rs 600 but has many benefits. "It gives you insurance of around two lakh, besides you can even use it during international schedules. Our organisation is working towards making life easier for the industry”, he said.

Looks like Salman found a new friend in Kangana after his splitting ways with Katrina.

Buzz was in the air that Kangana was approached to be a part of Salman’s home production directed by Mahesh Manjrekar but necessary changes had to be made in the film so the film at last was shelved. Their friendship is around a year old.

Khan won't get intimate with Sinha

Salman Khan won't get intimate with Sonakshi SinhaSeems like Salman Khan doesn't want to touch Sonakshi Sinha! No, the actor is not repulsed by her; he has only refused to shoot an intimate scene with the Shotgun girl in Sajid Nadiadwala's next. Buzz is that Salman froze after watching the love making scenes between Ravi Teja and Ileana D'Cruz and asked for the scenes to be modified immediately.

Salman has always been rather cautious about such scenes and when it comes to Sonakshi Sinha, who is over 2 decades younger to him, he is extremely protective and cautious. A source told, "Salman has always been very careful as far as romantic scenes are concerned. But with Sonakshi he has to be doubly careful. He treats her like a child. There was almost no physical intimacy between him and Sonakshi in Dabangg."

Now an expert has been summoned to modify the scene. Rajat Arora, who wrote the romantic sequences in Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai, will be making the necessary changes."Salman was impressed by the way Ajay courted Kangna in Once Upon A Time…He wanted a similar restrain and mellow quality in his courtship with Sonakshi in Kick," the source added.

The producer of the film, Nadiadwala confirmed that Rajat Arora is on board and that love making scene would have to be restrained to suit Salman and Sonakshi's equation.

Katrina Kaif leaves Kapoor for old flame Salman Khan?

It seems Bollywood siren Katrina Kaif is unable to get rid of the sweet memories of her mentor and old flame Salman Khan. Apparently, after a lot of introspection, the dainty beauty has decided to end her relationship with the blue-eyed boy of Bollywood – Ranbir Kapoor for his easy ways with women. Buzz has it that Katrina is deeply disturbed by Ranbir’s two timing habits and his umpteen clandestine affairs.

Katrina Kaif leaves Ranbir Kapoor for old flame Salman Khan?It is believed that in her darkest hour, it was Salman who came to Katrina’s rescue and provided her much needed succour. In fact, Salman and Katrina shared some quality time together and amicably resolved their differences. As of now, the two are very much together and happy in each other’s company.

Grapevine has it that Salman is planning to spend this weekend cheering for India in the World Cup 2011 Final at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai in the company of his lady love Katrina Kaif.

Salman's not confident of his & Asin's jodi?

Salman's not confident of his & Asin's jodi? The world saw an all new side of Salman Khan when his films Veer and Wanted were due to release. The actor, who has all these years refrained from actively participating in film's promotional activity, had suddenly become media savvy. He made his presence felt through some interesting promotional concepts - Horse ride during Veer and interacting with kids in remand home during Wanted.

And now, as he gears up to promote his forthcoming film Ready, Salman once again wants to go all to hype the pre-release popularity. However, more than the tradition of promoting a film before its release, there are some other aspects that have forced Khan to take special interest in the activities.

An industry source revealed, "Salman has been taking special interest in the promotional plans for Ready and he has strong reasons for doing so. For one, he and Asin starred together in London Dreams but their jodi couldn't become a hit with the audience. Therefore, Salman is worried and is trying his best that Ready doesn't meet the same fate.

"Secondly, director Anees Bazmee's last film No Problem bombed at the box office and same happened with production house T-Series' Patiala House. After tasting super success with Dabangg last year, Salman is in no mood for a defeat and so the special interest," said the source. Certainly, Salman's all ready to promote Ready. Only time will tell what unique promotional ways he comes up with.

Did Salman Khan plot the Ranbir-Katrina split-up?

Did Salman Khan plot the Ranbir-Katrina split-up?According to a report in Open magazine penned by a senior journalist with an apparent inside info on the juicy happenings in tinsel town, the reason for the break-up between Ranbir and Katrina is that he came to know about a secret visit she made to Salman when the latter was shooting his film Bodyguard in Pune.

The report goes on to claim that Katrina deliberately travelled in an ordinary car so as not to attract attention. But still the news reached Ranbir. How? The writer goes on to suggest that Salman himself made sure that the news of Katrina’s hush-hush visit reached Ranbir’s ears. The young actor was obviously furious to know that his gal was still making secret visits to her ex. What followed next was a fight between Ranbir and Katrina and their subsequent break-up.

Salman Khan fights with his director

Salman Khan fights with his directorSalman Khan had a heated argument with ‘Ready’ director Anees Bazmee, after which the latter deserted the Bangkok shoot midway and came back to Mumbai. Apparently, Salman had an ugly war of words with Anees Bazmee and the director did what few filmmakers have been known to do – walking out of the shoot. It is believed that choreographer Raju Khan is calling the shots on location.

Talking to a daily, the sets of ‘Ready’ said, “There was a huge argument between Salman and Anees. Salman had issues with Anees’s close associate Rajat Rawail, who is the co-producer of ‘Ready’. Anees tried to protect Rajat and this triggered an ugly fight, during which many of their other differences came up.”

After the Salman-Anees faceoff, producer Bhushan Kumar is facing tough time in getting the director on board again.

When contacted, Bhushan confirmed that Anees is not returning to Bangkok, “Why should Bazmee go back? Ek gaana hi toh shoot karna hai. Raju Khan is calling the shots. I am sure Anees will shoot the scenes that remain. We shall shoot those in Mumbai later, over a period of four days,” said the producer.

Kochi IPL sets eyes on Salman, Katrina for glamor quotient

Kochi IPL sets eyes on Salman, Katrina for glamor quotientWith an eye on adding glamour quotient, the latest entrant in the Indian Premier League, the Kochi team, is in talks with Bollywood actors Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif to be the brand ambassadors for the 'Indi Commandos'.

"We are currently talking to Salman and Katrina for endorsement deals," said Kochi IPL Team co-owner Mukesh Patel. While Katrina has been seen promoting the Bangalore Royal Challengers in the past, Salman has been reported to be keen on buying an IPL team.

Industry observers pointed out that if the deal is signed, the Kochi IPL team (officially named 'Indi Commandos') would get the much needed boost on the glamour front with the 'Dabangg' of Bollywood, Salman promoting the team along with Katrina.

They pointed out that IPL is not only about of cricket and glamour plays an important part with the likes of Shilpa Shetty adding zing for Rajasthan Royals and Shahrukh Khan doing the same for Kolkata Knight Riders, while Preity Zinta ensures that Kings XI Punjab has enough Bollywood quotient.

No steamy sequence between Salman-Asin in Ready: Anees Bazmee

No steamy sequence between Salman-Asin in Ready: Anees BazmeeDirector Anees Bazmee has denied rumours that his forthcoming film 'Ready' includes a steamy sequence between leading stars Salman Khan and Asin. "I don't know where these rumours came from. There is no steamy sequence between Salman and Asin in 'Ready'," said Bazmee.

The director insisted that the film is squeaky clean and has no such scene which might make it unfit for family viewing. "I don't make films which I can't watch with my own family. Look at any of my films so far, they can be seen comfortably without worrying that anything untoward may come on screen," said Bazmee.

"Whatever little intimacy is shown on screen, it is a part of a song and dance sequence. That too is strictly within the boundaries," he added. Comedy continues to be his poison, what with 'Thank You' releasing before 'Ready'. Also, couple of months back Bazmee had another comic release in 'No Problem'. Doesn't the director in him ever crave to make some serious cinema? "Who said comedy isn't serious business? I do my job rather seriously. A film of mine may or may not work but then no one can say that I made a cheap comedy. Also, vulgarity doesn't have any place in my cinema. I don't believe in having any double meaning dialogues in my films," he said.

Salman jumped from 10,000 feet

Salman jumped from 10,000 feetBollywood's Dabangg actor Salman Khan will be seen doing daredevil stunt in PepsiCo's Mountain Dew new ad where he jumps from 10,000 feet in a 'wing suit' from which a parachute springs open.

'Everyone is afraid of something or the other at some point of his or her life. But if you try to run away from fear, you'd be tired and eventually fear will win. So the best way to overcome fear is to face it, run through it because Darr Ke Aage Jeet Hai,' said Salman.

Salman was initially not so sure about the stunt but he eventually did it. Wing suit flying is a new sport of flying through the air in a special jumpsuit and pulling the parachute's ripcord as one approaches the ground.

He is said to be the first celebrity brand ambassador roped in by Mountain Dew. Alpana Titus, category marketing director (flavoured carbonated drinks), PepsiCo India Beverages, says the new campaign is quite big in terms of quality and budget. 'Salman has jumped from a mountain which was 10,000 feet high. He did have jitters initially but was confident it would work out well and he would be able to overcome his fears in turn,' she said.

When asked why Salman was chosen out of all the known faces, Titus said: 'Salman was our first choice because he embodies our (Mountain Dew's) tag-line 'Darr Ke Aage Jeet Hai' accurately and he also has a nationwide fan following. People in not only the metros but also the remote areas follow him.' The 45-second TV commercial will air from Friday and a 60-second commercial will be shown in theaters.

Kashyap chooses Salman over Shah Rukh

Kashyap chooses Salman over Shah RukhAfter the success of Dabangg, everyone wants a piece of Abhinav Kashyap but the Dabangg director is a loyal man! Even though Bollywood baadshah Shah Rukh Khan is eager to work with him, Kashyap has decided to stick with Salman Khan and refused SRK.

Buzz is that Salman wanted Kashyap to start working on Dabangg 2 while King Khan wanted Kashyap to direct a film for Red Chillies Entertainment. The director was caught in crossfire between Bollywood's most famous archenemies. Meanwhile, Kashyap even went for a meeting with SRK where the actor reportedly told the director that he would act and produce the film.

Later, what transpired between Salman and Kashyap is unknown but the Dabangg director chose Sallu over SRK. Speculations suggest that Kashyap decided to remain loyal with Salman, who gave Kashyap his first blockbuster hit.

A source told, "The shooting of Dabangg 2 starts in December 2011. As for SRK's film, he has still not been able to lock the script. The SRK project is still far away."Wonder how the baadshah will react to this snub!

King Khan and Sallu in no mood to bury the hatchet

Shahrukh Khan & Salman Khan in no mood to bury the hatchetThe growing distance between the Bollywood Baadshah and the ‘Wanted’ hunk has hit the bull's eye once again in the B-town.The growing distance between the Bollywood Baadshah and the ‘Wanted’ hunk has hit the bull's eye once again in the B-town.

Despite all the efforts from the well-wishers for bringing the frenemies together, the high-flying Bollywood Khans, Shahrukh and Salman, preferred to stay aloof from each other. Apparently, when SRK’s apology on the sets of Karan Johar’s chat show ‘Koffee With Karan’, didn’t seem to do any good to these good friends' sour relationship, then Aamir, a common friend to them, came forward with his befriending strategy.

With a hope to bring them closer, Mr. Perfectionist invited both the friend-turned-foes, Shahrukh and Salman, to the wedding reception bash of his nephew Imran Khan. But all went in vain, as SRK and Sallu were already up with their respective plans of keeping a safe distance from each other.

Sallu leaves the party early
Everyone at the occasion were anticipating that Sallu and Shahrukh would at least be greeting each other formally.

But, according to the tabloids, Salman who has a reputation of turning up late for the affairs, out of the blue, attended Imran-Avantika’s reception bash in the early hours of night. The hunk, who was accompanied by his brother Sohail Khan, left the social gathering within half an hour. It’s also learnt that the actor used the back gate for moving out.

Shahrukh arrives late for the party On the other hand, King Khan had informed Aamir beforehand that he had a shooting schedule that day and thus, would be turning up a bit late for the function. Probably, in an attempt to avoid Sallu, Shahrukh appeared at the party along with his wife Gauri Khan around 2:30 a.m.

A source said, “Shah Rukh came in with wife Gauri Khan very late into the night (around 2.30 am). He was seen apologizing profusely to Aamir for the delay, before heading to wish the couple.”What worsened things between the two? Rumors are doing the rounds that SRK’s apology on a public platform was not well received by Salman, who thought it to be a publicity gimmick.

When Salman seemed to be disinclined towards burying the hatchet, Shahrukh too started behaving indifferently. “SRK has done his part. Now if Salman decides not to bother about it, he feels it’s Salman’s problem and not his,” said a source.

Salman Khan act in Mr. India 2

Salman Khan act in Mr. India 2His rival Shahrukh Khan has done it in quite a few films- be it ‘Darr’, ‘Anjaam’, ‘Baazigar’ or ‘Duplicate’. SRK has convincingly played the villainous role in the above-mentioned films in his career. And now it appears that it is his arch adversary Salman Khan who is gearing up to get under the garbs of a dreaded villain.

There have been sufficient talks and reports about the making of Mr. India 2- the sequel to the hit film from the 80s. However, nothing has yet materialized as the film is still to go on floors. A miffed Anil Kapoor (who was the lead actor in Mr. India) has also vented his disappointment and his anger at brother Boney Kapoor for not giving the green signal to the sequel. But now it seems that things are silently falling into place and the film may pretty soon go on floors. Reports are once again doing the rounds that Salman has been finalized to play the negative character in the sequel (it was late actor Amrish Puri who had immortalized Mogambo in the original).

The lead actors would be played by Anil Kapoor and Sridevi. Salman’s Dabangg character had shades of grey in it. And it seems that his Dabangg success has injected confidence on the producers to cast him as the bad man. Let’s see how things turn out eventually…….

Salman Khan was shown black flags at Jaipur marathon

Salman Khan indicated dark signals at Jaipur marathonBollywood actor Salman Khan was shown black flags by the members of the Bishnoi community, when he arrived here on Sunday to inaugurate the Jaipur Marathon Race 2011.

The members of the Bishnoi community protested against Khan's presence at the event as the actor was convicted for killing black bucks, an endangered species, in 2006. The Bishnoi community activists also raised slogans against the Tourism Minister Bina Kak and assailed her sharing the same platform with one accused of being a killer of an endangered animal.

"The Chief Minister (Ashok Gehlot) should ask for a resignation from such minister (Bina Kak) because on one side the government claims to protect environment and on the other hand to hurt the emotions of environment lovers is welcoming an animal killer. A minister from the government is standing there with the actor welcoming him," said a protesting Bishnoi.

The police personnel later had to baton charge the protestors to disperse the crowd. It has been reported that the police later took around 15 members of the Bishnoi community into its custody. Bishnois, who hail from Rajasthan, are devout protectors of the flora and fauna.

Salman Khan vs. John Abraham

Salman Khan vs. John AbrahamIt’s now Salman Khan vs. John Abraham. Salman Khan and John Abraham have never seen eye to eye. There is a cold war between both the Bollywood actors and the reason is John’s next coming Force’s posters. Poster of Force, a remake of the southern flick Kaakha Kaakha looks similar to Salman’s Wanted. John has the same look and attitude as Salman in the poster, and it seems there will now be more issues brewing between the two.

Asin: Salman was extremely caring

Asin: Salman was extremely caringSalman, who is acting once again with Asin after their 2009 film London Dreams, made sure that she got plenty of rest and ate her medicines on the sets.

“Salman was extremely caring right through the shoot of Ready and especially when I was ill. I caught an infection and even as I continued to shoot, I was on constant medication. Salman made sure that I ate properly,” said Asin.

The Dabangg star kept a constant tab on his leading lady, who was down with an infection during the last days of the film’s shoot. Asin’s mother, who is a doctor, prescribed the medicine and it was Salman who made sure that she ate them on time.

“On a hectic day of shooting, one tends to forget about medicines but he was always there to remind me of taking them on time. He forever kept checking that my fever was under control. That was so nice of him,” said the actress.

The actress who debuted in Bollywood opposite Aamir Khan in 2008 hit Ghajini said that Salman is really a ‘cool’ co-star. The two stars had been linked in gossip columns while they were shooting London Dreams and after Salman’s reported break-up from Katrina Kaif, the stories are circulating again.

“I am fond of Salman. Since we are working together in Ready, we spend a lot of time together. I understand the value and importance of comfortable professional relationship and am well aware of how people perceive the coming together of two actors,” said Asin.
