Mallika, Bips, Priyanka in Charlies Angels!

Hollywood hotties Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore and Lucy Liu have some serious competition coming their way. Bollywood bombshell Mallika Sherawat recently revealed how she, Priyanka Chopra and Bipsha Basu can make for a brilliant desi angels.

On social networking site Twitter, Mallika Sherawat has been seen bonding with Priyanka Chopra big time. The two actresses share greetings and as if belonging to a mutual admiration society do not leave a single opportunity to praise each other. Where Mallika is seen wishing PC for her continued success, PC is wishing Mallika the very best for her film Hisss.

The two have gotten so close that Mallika even shared her wish of being cast as a Charlie’s Angel along with Priyanka and Bipasha if the franchise plans to make an Indian version of the film.Mallika wrote to Priyanka on Twitter.

“The Twitter people want us to do Charlie’s Angels. They said Bips also so we need to get her on Twitter. Gul (Panag) has a strong support too. Priyanka responded saying, “Sounds rocking!” We wonder what Bips has to say on that but all I can say is Mallika, your pick is quite good, after all Mallika, Bipasha and Priyanka are hot and can certainly kick ass!

Emraan Hashmi can't buy a house in Pali Hill

Bollywood serial kisser Emraan Hashmi has became a victim of discrimination here in the tinsel city. The Bollywood actor denied permission to buy an apartment in Posh Pali Hill locality in the city.

The Pali Hill's Nibbana Cooperative Society politely blocked the sale to Hashmi saying that society will not give NOC to him.

A disappointed actor said he was denied permission because of belonging to a minority community. “The housing society is discriminating against him because he is a Muslim,” the actor said.

However, on-screen Kissing King has approached state minority commission against the discrimination and lodged a complaint in this regard.

Katrina-Kareena : friends again?

Bollywood is strange, so are the stars. After listening to what the sweet Katrina Kaif had to say about her, Kareena seems to have forgotten all the rivalry or jealous that was sprouting among them.Recently Katrina presented her compliments on Bebo’s performances and professional attitude.

Listening to this Kareena seems to be quite appreciative and in return wants to thank Katie. Knowing Bollywood, it friendships, its jilts, its rivalries, it would be wrong to say that this is the beginning of a friendship between Kareena and Katrina, but this definitely give positive vibes as both drop weapons.

Tom's Big Score

Big Lots, Big Savings

I love Big Lots because I save lots on DVDs in the $3 bargain bin there. That's less cost than a Starbucks latte for a motion picture - something you can retain a lot longer than coffee. On a recent pilgrammage to the Dundalk Big Lots, conveniently located next door to the Dundalk Giant Food with its state-of-the-art bathroom facilities (which I needed after almost peeing myself over all the good stuff at Big Lots), I recently scored 20-some cool DVDS of the indie, cult and arthouse variety. Since Facebook friends suggested I post my thrift store scores, herein is the list.

1. REEL TALENT: FIRST FILMS BY LEGENDARY DIRECTORS
Two DVDS representing 188 minutes-worth of 12 first films by 9 directors - all of whom attended film school at the University of Southern California - including three by George "Star Wars" Lucas (A Man and His Car , Electronic Labyrinth THX 1138 4EB, Freiheit), two by Robert "Back To the Future"/"Forest Gump" Zemeckis (The Lift, A Field of Honor), Richard "Donnie Darko" Kelly (The Goodbye Place), Richard L. Bare (whose The Oval Portrait is based on an Edgar Allan Poe story), Shawn Levy (Broken Record), John Turtletaub (Whatever It Takes), Kevin Reynolds (Proof), James Foley, Jr. (Silent Night), and Steve Sommers (Perfect Alibi).

2. VERNON, FLORIDA
Errol Morris' 1981 documentary, shot in Super 16, about oddball rednecks in this Northwest Florida town plays like a Dixieland version of Northern Exposure. Featuring a turkey hunter, a pet collector, a carpenter-preacher, and a couple who keep a jar of sand that they believe increases every day. Trust me, it's fascinating. I already own a copy, but I picked up an extra copy for an ex-Floridean friend so she can marvel at the vast cultural landscape she left behind.

3. 2006 FIFA WORLD CUP FILM
This one makes me salivate. All the highlights from the 2006 World Cup, including Zinedine Zidane's infamous head-butt in the final against Italy's Azzuri. Again, I already own it, but I got for my soccer fanatic neighbor because I might use it as a bargaining chip in getting him to mow my lawn this week.

4. PUMP UP THE VOLUME
Another one I own but picked up for a friend who's really into '80s movies (PUTV came out in 1990 but it's totally '80s). Christian Slater was still riding his post-Heathers cult popularity when he made this tale about a rebellious high school "pirate radio" DJ named Happy Harry Hard-on. Great soundtrack includes songs by Concrete Blonde, Pixies, Bad Brains, Sonic Youth, and Cowboy Junkies. I remember seeing this at the historic Senator Theater back in the day.

5. PARADISE NOW
Hany Abu-Assad (Rana's Wedding)'s 2005 film about two Palestinian childhood friends recruited to be suicide bombers was the first Palestinian film to be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film and became famously controversial when Israeli officials tried to extract a guarantee from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences that Paradise Now would not be presented in the ceremony as representing the state of Palestine, despite the fact it was introduced as such in the Academy Awards' official website. A similar "political" analogy would be that of China and Taiwan, whereby Taiwan is called "Chinese Taipei" in international sports competitions (like the recent Beijing Olympics). As a result, the Internet Movie Database refers to its country of origin as "Occupied Palestinian Territory."

6. THE YES MEN
"Changing the world one prank at a time." I heard good stuff about this documentary concerning anti-corporate activists that travel from conference to conference, impersonating members of the World Trade Organization. Roger Ebert called it a "disturbing" doc. The filmmakers are Dan Ollman, Sarah Price and Chris Smith; Price and Smith previously scored a hit with the critically lauded American Movie (2000).

7. HOUSE OF SAND (CASA DE AREIA)
I love this 2005 Brazilian arthouse film by director Andrucha Waddington that tells the story of a young woman who in 1910 is taken, along with her mother, to a far-away desert by her husband. After her aged husband dies, she spends the next 59 years of her life hopelessly trying to escape her "house of sand." Think a feminine version of Robinson Crusoe, only surrounded by a sea of sand instead of water. Fernanda Torres (Four Days in September) is the star and I found her performance riveting. Her mother in the film is legendary Brazilian actress Fernanda Montenegro (Central Station, Four Days in September), who was most recently seen stateside in Love in a Time of Cholera.

8. A MIGHTY WIND
Christopher Guest's folk music parody masterpiece with an ensemble cast of the usual comedic suspects - Harry Shearer, Michael Mckena, Eugene Levy, Catherine O'Hara, Fred Willard, Parker Posey, and Bob Balaban. Essential and endlessly rewatchable.

9. RIPLEY'S GAME
Saw this on TV and loved John Malkovich's performance. Lots of garroting, which you don't see every day. A garrot glutton's delight, in fact, especially that assembly-line train garroting scene.

10. THE SQUID AND THE WHALE
Based on the true childhood experiences of Noah Baumbach and his brother, The Squid and the Whale tells the story of two young boys dealing with their parents divorce in Brooklyn in the 1980's. Supposed to be great, with outstanding performances by Laura Linney and Jeff Daniels, and numerous award nominations, including an Oscar nom for Best Screenplay for director Noah Baumbach.

11. THE GAY DIVORCEE
Mark Sandrich-directed Fred Astaire-Ginger Rogers musical featuring Oscar winning song "The Continental." Ginger plays Mimi Glossop, a young woman unhappily married to a geologist who, accompanied by her dotty Aunt Hortense (Alice Brady), hires lawyer Edward Everett Horton to help her obtain a divorce. Complicating matters is American dancing sensation Guy Holden (Astaire), who falls madly in love with still-married Mimi. Sandrich was a top-notch director who directed five of the nine RKO musicals starring Astaire and Rogers, including Top Hat, Carefree, Shall We Dance, and Follow the Fleet in addition to this classic.

12. FOLLOW THE FLEET
Another Mark Sandrich-directed Fred Astaire-Ginger Rogers musical, notable for the singing and acting of Harriet Hilliard - later famous as Harriet Nelson on TV's Ozzie and Harriet show.

13. FLYING DOWN TO RIO
An orchestra loses its gig at a ritzy hotel when its leader, Roger (Gene Raymond), is caught romancing Belinha De Rezende (Dolores del Rio), a spicy, Brazilian guest. So it's off to Rio de Janeiro, where the band tries to save a hotel in peril and Raymond tries to woo Belinha from her fiancé. Not the greatest Astaire musical, but it does have that great wing-ding of an airplane dance number.

Internet reviewer "lovejuice" commented that the "Carioca" dance number in Rio is a remarkable example of how Hollywood skirted around the segregation laws then in effect. "The dance of Astaire, Rogers and white dancers are cut intertwined with the ensemble of about 40 black dancers. Audiences get the sense that they are all in the same room, but we never actually see them dance together in one frame, not until the very last part anyway. The very last shot is of black dancers dance Carioca with white dancers standing still on a rotating platform. The white do not dance, but the platform dances for them. This is perhaps the closest one can get to breaking the segregation law in 1933."

15. NINOTCHKA
Lubitsch and a gabbing Garbo. 'Nuff said! But I actually picked it up for my dad's girlfriend, who adores Garbo. When released in 1939, it was billed as "Garbo laughs!" as it was her one and only comedy. I also like MGM's other tagline "Don't pronounce it - see it!"

16. BRICK
Great high school neo-noir starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Mysterious Skin, 500 days of Summer).

17. JACQUES COUSTEAU'S RIVER EXPLORATIONS
Yes! He shoots, he scores! Six DVDs filled with almost 700 minutes ('count 'em!) of river explorations that lists for $44.95 on Amazon! I love Jacques Cousteau and can still remember taking a school field trip to the Loch Raven Theater to see his mind-blowing underwater adventures. This set covers everything from the Danube to the Mississippi to the Amazon. Even Muddy Waters. Not, not really.

18. DOPPLEGANGER
A rare "comedy" (or as close to that term as he gets!) by Japanese director Kiyoshi Kurosawa (Cure, Pulse, Tokyo Sonata). Thought provoking, as per usual, from the most interesting Japanese director working today.

19. THUNDERBIRDS 6
I'm so blind I misread this one as Thunderbirds G until I put a call in to T-bird expert David Cawley. Dave said it was a lesser Gerry Anderson work, but that's OK, I'll give it to my exterminator pal Scottie, who's a marionette animation fan (he loves Captain Scarlet!) Thunderbirds were go; now they're gone - from Big Lots!

20. NIGHT COURT - FIRST SEASON
OK, this was an Amy pick because she loves mainstream American TV (like her beloved WKRP in Cincinatti) (what can I say, she has peculiar taste - I mean, she likes me.)

*** THE ONES THAT GOT AWAY ***

The ones I put back - and am now regretting doing so, are:

LITTLE CHILDREN
Great movie about suburban ennui. Kate Winslet and Jennifer Connelly got the big credits, but it also features one of my fave actresses, Jane Adams (Joy Jordan from Todd Solondz' Happiness), who has a very disturbing parking scene on her blind date with a sex offender. Why didn't I get it?

PRIVATE PARTS
No, not the stupid Howard Stern movie but the debut film by Paul Bartel (Eating Raoul).

ERNEST GOES TO AFRICA
The ninth installment in the Jim Varney/Ernest Powertools Worrell film franchise. As Billy McConnell pointed out, some Ernest flicks are legitimate cult films, like 1994's Ernest Gets a Job, which was directed by future Existo director Coke Sams. This one will torment me through many a sleepless night. Know what I mean, Vern?

*** AMY'S BIG SCORE *** (addendum)

Ohmigod! In my haste I forgot all the big scores my girlfriend Amy has made on budget DVDs at Big Lots, some which she has graciously given to me (we share!). These include many big-name auteurs, like:

PAN'S LABYRINTH (Guillarmo del Toro!)
Some say it should have won the 2007 Best Foreign Film Oscar that went to The Lives of Others.

DAY FOR NIGHT (Truffaut!)

STOREFRONT HITCHCOCK (Jonathan Demme!)

ROADIE (Alan Rudolph!)
Alan Rudolph's 1980 cult classic stars Meatloaf as Travis W. Redfish with a star-studded cast of Don "Soul Train" Cornelius, Alice Cooper, Debbie Harry and Blondie, and members of Asleep at the Wheel.

BROKEN FLOWERS (Jim Jarmusch!)

LOST IN TRANSLATION (Sophia Coppola!)

CUTIE HONEY (LIVE ACTION)
This 2004 tokusatsu (live-action) version of creator Go Nagai's sexy manga and anime superheroine was directed by Hideaki Anno and stars popular Japanese model Eriko Sato as the scantily clad Cutie Honey. But the live-action version is every bit as cartoonish as the manga, playing like a kitschy episode of the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers as Honey does battle with a bunch of silly-named villains like Sister Jill, Gold Claw, Cobalt Claw, Scarlet Claw and Black Claw. Great fun!

TEKKONKINREET (Anime)
This is a 2006 hybrid anime project: based on a manga by Taiyo Matsumoto and made in Japan, but directed by an American, first-time helmer Michael Arrias. It tells the story of two orphans, White and Black, who try to survive in a grity metropolitan slum called Treasure Town. It looks cool.

RESCUE ME MAVE-CHAN (Anime)

I think she also scored the eerie Spanish horror film THE ORPHANAGE.

'I am not a rock star'

Though her debut movie Luck wasn't so lucky for her, Shruti Haasan didn't go unnoticed. The actress who also sang in Soham Shah's movie looked striking though she could have opted for a better launch vehicle.

She spoke to Nithya Ramani about her rock band, her take on love and relationships, and who she thinks is the most dishiest actor in Bollywood. Excerpts: How has life changed since Luck? It hasn't changed. I am as excited and happy as I was the first day I decided to be an artist. I get to meet new people and do fun stuff.

This is your debut. How was the experience from first day to last of shooting Luck? Awesome and nerve-wrecking at times. I was debuting and wondered what I was doing here, if I could pull this off, shooting with creatures that were at any point ready to bite off a limb. It was all in all very exciting to have had that opportunity.

You are a rock star. How did acting come your way? I am not a rock star. I am averse to that word. I am a musician, I play the piano and have learnt all kinds of music. Right now the band is in a transitionary phase and I am looking out for new musicians. I am very excited about the new music that is going to come out.

Being an entertainer, any form of entertainment has always my calling. I was studying music in Los Angeles. I also acted in a few shows and enjoyed it. I realised it was something I could do. I then started thinking about it seriously, started looking at scripts and meeting people.

What are you favourite songs? There have been so many songs in the history of Indian cinema that it will be unfair to choose just a few. What is your take on love and relationships? Love is important and it does make the world go round. And why it is so great is because there are so many different kinds of love. It is a very unique and powerful emotion.

Who are your favourite actors? There are so many. People think I am being diplomatic but I truly cannot pick one. Who do you think are the dishiest actors in Bollywood? I think Shah Rukh Khan. He is magnificent.

It is Sanjay Dutt's birthday today. Do you have anything to say? How was your experience of working with him? I am not the kind who can wish someone on camera. As far as working with him is concerned, it was amazing.

He has been working in this industry for so long and has such a powerful persona that I learnt a lot just from watching him. He is very polite and quiet on the sets. He is very easy to work with. He doesn't look like he is 50. The monsoon is finally here. What is your favourite memory of the rains? I like the rains. I like to sit indoors and read a book. You can also watch The Godfather because it is just a fabulous film ever made.

Saif-Kareena on a kissing spree

Can you name the most kissed couple in Bollywood? No prizes for guessing! Lovebirds Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor are on a kissing spree of late, and that too with other actors.

Yes, Saif-Kareena have kissed 15 times in just two films. Just on the heels of Kareena kissing Akshay Kumar 10 times in their recently released film Kambakkht Ishq, Saif is said to have kissed Deepika Padukone five times in their film Love Aaj Kal which is set for release tomorrow.

Kareena defended her kisses, saying that the script demanded it. Nobody complaint following the good opening the film witnessed.

Now, the question is whether Saif's kisses will pull in the crowds to the theatres. You don't have to wait for too long for the final verdict will be out tomorrow when it hits the theatres.

Sanjay Dutt pooh poohs problems with Imran Khan

On his birthday, which falls on July 29, Sanjay Dutt feels very charitable towards those who have apparently not been kind to him. Shrugging off stories of Imran Khan undercutting his role in Luck, Sanjay says, “Imran is like a little child.

He was very respectful through the two films we’ve done together. He’s a good actor. I wish him luck and I want him to grow into an actor as big as his uncle (Aamir). Imran is too young to create problems for me.”

Sanjay says he did Luck for a lark. “I did it just to help Soham Shah. I really didn’t have the time or date. I told him to just cast me in a small role, which would finish quickly.

In fact the role shaped up bigger than planned. As long as it makes some money and no one loses any, I’m happy.” Hours before his birthday Sanjay is chilled out.

But he has regrets about not being able to be near Amar Singh on his birthday. “I couldn’t even visit Amar Singhji because by the time the visa materialized the surgery was over. My wife Maanyata was there. But I speak to him everyday. He’s out of the hospital now. He sounds better. I’ve seen his health deteriorate during the election campaigns.

God gave me an opportunity to look after my elder brother during the elections. I’m glad I was around. I can’t do ads or work within corporate sectors, because I am a convict.” But cheering up Sanjay says, “I heard Bunty Walia is coming. Everything he does is announced on Facebook. So he has announced he’s coming for my birthday.”

Aishwarya to crack down on the false stories about her private life

Upset over "fabricated" media stories about her private life, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has threatened legal action against those responsible, a statement issued by her publicist said Thursday.

"Certain sections of the press have been behaving in a callous manner and have been putting together articles or pieces without any semblance of truth and furthermore they have been attributing quotes to the actor which are baseless and false.

Previously our client preferred to remain silent to let better sense prevail be it the news when she was married off to a tree or otherwise. This silence should not be misconstrued as a weakness, " the statement read.

The statement was issued to counter an article titled "Career more important than family" by a website where one of the quotes attributed to the actress read:

"If I want to remain in the film industry then I need to stay fit", that implied that she will not have children. The article also stated that her actor-husband Abhishek Bachchan was in agreement with her stand.

"She is one actress who never made any statements that her marriage can wait and she will focus on her career. When she did, she got her family's blessings and got married in the middle of a film and has been a thorough professional even after her wedding, " the statement said.

"We must not forget that besides being a star in every right Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is about a daughter, a wife, and a daughter in law, a symbol of our tradition and she has always believed and practiced values that govern our society. Irresponsible statements about her private life will not be left to grow without a strong rebuttal, " it added.

The statement also warned of strict legal action against those behind such stories about the 35-year-old. "This may be read and understood in no uncertain terms that hence forth we would be forced to take legal recourse in any such event of a piece or article appearing without any credibility or which is an absolute fabrication of one's imagination... We must respect Aishwarya Rai Bachchan for her stand to remain silent on such baseless rumors but it would be wrong to use her name to further a personal cause or career, " it read.

Vidya Balan signed up for Yash Chopras next?

There is a strong buzz in the industry circles that Vidya Balan has been signed by Yash Chopra for his directorial next. It is the same project which was supposed to star Aamir Khan along with Preity Zinta. But while, Aamir is still being non-committal about being approached for the project, other news making the rounds is that Preity has been replaced by Vidya Balan.

Sources are claiming that it is a love story spanning ages, but is completely different to what Chopra’s last directorial effort Veer Zara was. Incidentally, Veer Zara also had its lead pair Shah Rukh Khan and Preity Zinta playing characters both young and old.

Sources further claim that Yash Chopra intends to begin this film by early 2010 and make it a grand Diwali 2010 release. He will be finally directing a film after 6 years since he directed Veer Zara (2004).

While there has been no confirmation from both Vidya Balan or Yash Raj Films yet, we can only imagine right now what crackling chemistry it would be of Aamir and Vidya, and to top it all with romance king Yash Chopra directing it.

THE NILES LESH PROJECT - ALL RIGHTS RESERVED 2009

Friendship - a hit recipe in Bollywood

Before "Dil Chahta Hai" happened in 2001, romance and action thrillers were ruling the roost in Bollywood.

But the film about three urban youngsters not only proved to be a huge hit, it also brought the theme of friendship back in vogue.

"New York" is the latest film successfully exploring bonding among friends. It comes after last year's three big hits -

"Dostana", "Rock On!" and "Jaane Tu...Ya Jaane Na" - which also revolved around changing equations among pals.

Filmmaker Kabir Khan, who gave this year's first big hit "New York", said: "Friendship is an interesting human bond and this as a theme lends scope to have many interesting situations and stories. It is a very interesting relationship to explore.

"When you have the theme of marriage, then you might get stuck somewhere but with the subject of friends, the opportunities are immense and many interesting stories and angles can be given to the film," he told IANS.

"However, what is of prime importance is that the film is made well. If the film is not made well then no theme can work, whether friendship or something else," he added. Starring John Abraham, Katrina Kaif and Neil Nitin Mukesh, "New York" narrated the story of three friends.

But Bollywood has experimented with the theme earlier in melodramatic movies like "Dosti" (1964), a sentimental drama on the friendship between two people - one blind and the other crippled - and "Sangam" (1964), where two friends - Raj Kapoor and Rajendra Kumar - fall in love with the same girl (Vyjayanthimala).

Action-oriented films like "Sholay", "Dostana" and "Yaarana" too had friendship as an integral part of the storyline. It was young filmmaker Farhan Akhtar who gave male-bonding a new definition with his superhit "Dil Chahta Hai", which starred Aamir Khan, Akshaye Khanna and Saif Ali Khan. Their performances as chilled out urban youth struck the right chord with the multiplex audience.

In 2007, Govinda- and Salman Khan-starrer "Partner", a light-hearted romantic comedy, went on to be a huge box office success. In the recent past, filmmakers have explored the bond successfully in blockbusters like "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai", "Jhankaar Beats", "Masti", "Mirch Masala", "Rang De Basanti" and "Heyy Baby". These films were light-hearted and thoroughly entertained the viewers.

Mumbai-based film historian S.M.M. Ausaja feels people identify with such films and that's why they work at the box office. "Over the years, films on friendship have done quite well, with films like 'Dosti', 'Yaarana' and of course 'Sholay' being landmarks in this genre. The main reason for their success is that people identify with such subjects. When such themes are explored in movies, they mostly make a mark," he explained.

Film critic Omar Qureshi agreed: "Films with which people can identify always work. Everyone can connect with films that revolve around friendships because everyone has a friend. There is no one who doesn't have a single friend.

"When the audience can relate to the situations in the film, they get interested in the story. Thus, friendship films have been hits mostly." Geetika Joshi, a 19-year-old college student, feels films like "Jaane Tu..." or "Rang De Basanti" have more appeal because of the friendship angle rather than out-and-out love stories.

"I like films based on friends more. After all friends are such an integral part of our lives today. I go and watch such films with my pals and have a ball. These are light-hearted and have a fun element," she said. "Films on friends are young, hip and very us, they represent our generation. I love such films," said Uday Goswami, a BPO employee.

Shahrukh ends his cold war with Aishwarya

Shahrukh Khan is all set to end his seven year old cold war with Aishwarya Bachchan. If sources inside the industry are to be believed Shahrukh plans to cast Aishwarya in his next home production. The two stars who had delivered blockbusters like Mohabbatein and Devdas had fallen apart on the sets of Chalte Chalte after Aishwarya was ousted from the movie and replaced by Rani Mukherjee.

It was then being rumoured that Salman Khan who had just been dumped by Aishwarya created a lot of ruckus on the sets. The movie was going nowhere with Salman's behaviour and Shahrukh who was producing the movie finally decided to oust Aishwarya from it. Since then the two stars have not been in talking terms and engaged in a cold war.

But things are now looking positive as the SRK and Ash have decided to bury their hatchets. Recently during Karan Johar's birthday party Shahrukh had apologised to Aishwarya for having wronged her. Later Aishwarya along with Abhishek was seen dancing with Shahrukh and his wife Gauri. The director for the movie hasn't be chosen as yet but the colossal stars will surely be together on the screen.

Nigar's bikini shakes up the Jungle!

After Shweta Tiwari quit the show, many thought that Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao will stop sizzling, sans her bosom displays and swimsuit shots. But there is a twist. Yesterday's episode saw the entrance of a new hottie Nigar Khan.

Remember, the item girl who did remix videos (Chadti Jawani) and was deported from India for not carrying a work permit. While she may not be allowed to enter India but she's there for all to see on the reality TV show being shot in jungles of Malaysia. But more than the audience, she came as a breath of fresh air for the men on the show, especially for actor Akashdeep Sehgal.

Right after her entry, Akashdeep turned into an ever cheerful, super funny, boisterous guy. Though he did manage to get 'close', all the men on the show got an eyeful when Nigar woke up early in the morning and wrapped herself in a towel and headed off to the bathing area, wearing the tiniest of bikinis. Let's see what's more in store with this hottie around!

Kareena Kapoor is now International demand. .

After her popular Bebo Mein Bebo act in Kambakkht Ishq Kareena of Bollywood has been involved in international stage shows that were once a fixture every season. She has won a lot more admirers across continents and has prompted foreign show promoters to plan a string of stage shows revolving around her.

They have gotten in touch with local show organisers and have planned a three-stage world tour on US, Europe and South African shores according to our sources. And they have even chalked out a deal for Bebo that they feel she can’t refuse. If things work out, this will be the first time an Indian actress is doing a series of shows around the world. The only glitch is that Kareena has no dates and is busy through the next year. But the event organisers are hopeful that she’d make some time for them to spread some cheer in the industry and her fans.

Shilpa Shetty launches spa in Mumbai

Yet another Bollywood actor has made it big in the field of beauty biz. After launching perfumes, a Yoga DVD, and acquiring a stake in IPL cricket team, Bollywood hot lady Shilpa Shetty launched her medi spa named as 'IOSIS' in Mumbai.

Commenting over the launch of spa, Shilpa said: "Our idea behind opening IOSIS is that obviously people cannot do the treatments at home so we want them to spend some time with us and rediscover themselves."

The 34-year old actress further added that the wellness and beauty industry is growing and her idea behind the medi spa is to help people rediscover them.

Besides Rekha, Shilpa's close pals and Bollywood actresses Pooja Batra and Sushmita Sen were also present during the occasion. This is a joint venture of Shilpa Shetty and well-known entrepreneur Kiran Bawa.

The medispa will be a fusion of four - styling, spa, salon and skin treatments. Every treatment will be under the supervision of trained professionals.

Tori & Dean

My apologies for not updating sooner. Being unemployed is a double-edged sword: on the one hand, it gives me more time to write and pitch work, which is fabulous, but on the other hand, some days it gives me the time to watch Tori and Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood on Oxygen.

I was ashamed, at first, to even admit that I watched the show. For those of you who might not know: Tori Spelling is the daughter of Aaron Spelling, creator of 90210 (in which Tori starred as the virginal Donna Martin) and several other successful television shows. Since her father's death, Tori's relationship with her mother has deteriorated, and she has largely retreated into her marriage with Dean McDermont, and into motherhood: they have two kids, Liam (22 months) and Stella (7 months). This is their reality show.

Tori, who is a mediocre actress and a likely anorexic, has never been much of an interest to my passion for all pop culture. The fact that she and Dean were both married to other people when they met, fell in love, and decided to divorce their partners (even though Dean's wife was pregnant at the time) is also not exactly model behavior. But, they have been married for four years, and have two beautiful children.

On the first episode I saw, Tori's best friend, and his boyfriend, the "guncles" annouced their decision to marry sooner rather than later, because they want to adopt a child. They ask Tori and Dean for help with the wedding and to be their recommenders to the adoption agency. Tori is clearly overwhelmed by emotion and tells them that she doesn't know any other couple more suited to be parents, and that she always feels totally confident when she leaves her children with them, and that she couldn't be happier for them.

Dean's also a kind of a babe, and maybe the best husband ever. After the motorbike crash, he feels so guilty for worrying Tori that he sells his bikes, renounces the hobby, and buys her a huge ring. When she gets home, he has a bubblebath, roses and champagne waiting. It's an old school romantic gesture, but the real sacrifice is giving up the hobby because he knows it drives her crazy, and it puts his life in danger. He also flies to New York from Calgary so he can be with Tori on Valentine's Day. And he's constantly telling her what a hot ass she has and how beautiful she is. Did I mention he has her painted on the side of his motorbike and a Tori tattoo? (Yes, I find these sort of things romantic).

With her father dead and her mother estranged, Tori has no other family outside the one she's created with Dean. Her desperation when he leaves to go on vacation, or when he crashes his motorbike, it completely heart-breaking for several reasons. Aside from the clear indicators of co-dependence, it's obvious that Tori and Dean really do love each other, and that their number one priority is their children. That's a beautiful thing.

Negar Khan Set To Steam Up The Jungles Of Malaysia

In other sizzling reality news from around the world, model and actress Negar Khan is slated to be sent to the jungle set of Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao.

The hottest story on Google India, and perhaps the best thing that every happened to the ailing reality show, Khan should spice things up a bit for the weary audience, at least that is what the producers hope any way.

From this writer’s point of view, I am wondering why the hit show Survivor did not get Negar instead of some of the aging starlets feartured in their celebrity versions.

Perhaps American celebs are just whimps? As for Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao, the show appears a lot better than some of Bollywood’s other entires. I sure hope Negar fares better than some other models.

The India version of British reality show “I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here”, this version has had its problems according to the Insider.

Contestants complaining and quitting being the least of the show’s woes, even Negar had initial problems getting her visa straightened out to be on the popular series. Now the forests of Malaysia will play host to Negar, who’s most appropriate prior role may have been as a seductive pole dancer in Double Cross.

The Indian audience will likely be a seduced, given the popularity of the show and Neda in the news today. For Bollywood, and all those TV viewers looking for a little “untamed” entertainment, at least it should be interesting to see if Negar can handle the cuisine so many others complained about. Along with that, watching a lovely model do arduous tasks has to rate high for the show’s targeted demographic, who can start lighting up the SMS voting soon.

For those fans who cannot wait, we thought we would give a preview of Negar from her role as a pole dancer. We will leave it up to the reader’s imagination as to how pole dancing might be employed in the jungle. As for PR moves, the producers of this reality show appear to have come to grips with what their audience wants. At least this is the way it appears as the stories of Negar pile up in Google and Yahoo news.
