Sonakshi out, Sexy Sam is in

After Sonakshi Sinha and Deepika Padukone walking out of Kamal Hassan's ambitious Kollywood project Vishwaroopam, buzz is the South superstar has roped in Sameera Reddy to play his wife in the movie.

Says a source, "Kamal wanted an actress with a Bollywood connect. Sonakshi was first signed for it, but unfortunately she left the project due to date as well as weight issues."

Apparently, Sonakshi opted out of Hassan's bilingual film due to her prior commitment to Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Rowdy Rathod.

Once she backed out, the grapevine was buzzing with news of Kamal's offer being rejected by several A-List actresses in Bollywood.

Date issues

Deepika Padukone, who also refused the role, cited a packed schedule as her reason. "Plus she is to star opposite Rajnikanth, Kamal's archrival down South, " adds the source.

Finally, Kamal decided to sign on Sameera. A source close to the actress confirms, "Yes, she is doing the film.

She is very glad to be a part of the project. Though she is too young to play Kamal Hassan's wife, it is a big opportunity for her."

Sameera fights her water phobia, shocks everyone

Sameera fights her water phobia, shocks everyoneThe actress who is petrified of water, fought her fear and shot the whitewater raft sequence herself

Sameera Reddy will be seen in an all new avatar doing stunts in Priyadarshan's thriller Tezz starring Ajay Devgan, Anil Kapoor and Kangna Ranaut.

She has done all sorts of adventurous stunts from riding bikes to going under the water.

In one of the action sequences shot in London, Sam was required to do whitewater rafting. The actress who is scared of water fought her fear and agreed to shoot the scene herself.

A crew member informs, "Sameera was supposed to shoot a scene under water. We all knew of her fear of water so the director thought of doing the scene with a body double.

But Sameera is a such an adventure junkie that she took it up as a challenge to shoot the scene herself. We were shocked when Sam besides rafting also agreed to do the underwater scene in the freezing temperature."

"She stayed in the freezing cold water for 15-odd minutes pulling off the sequence to perfection. But when she came out she couldn't stand on her feet and her body had gone completely numb.

The unit got a bit worried but thankfully Sam got back to being normal in an hour. We gave her a lot of hot drinks and warm clothes."

She has waited patiently for three years. She has lost hope of the producers releasing it. She has offered to buy off the film.”

However, the source adds, “Sameera has offered to buy it for Rs4 crore. Perceptis asking for Rs8 crore which Sameera feels is too exorbitant.”

Shailendra Singh of Percept says, “We’d be very happy to partner with Sameera as our producer. She has given a fantastic performance.”

Bollywood celebrities share their fitness tips

Kangna Ranaut: My fitness secret is my regular and disciplined yoga practice. Though I go to the gym and follow a good diet, it is yoga that helps me stay fit.

It creates strength in the body, provides flexibility and also strengthens the mind. Over the years, I have had.

An erratic schedule of shoots, outdoors etc. In spite of that I find time to do an hour of yoga everyday no matter where I am.

This discipline is the only way to ensure you stay fit. Raima Sen: For me health and happiness go hand in hand!

I’m healthiest at my happiest and vice versa. But I believe that there are some essentials in terms of health that cannot be ignored. For instance, sunshine!

I may not be the proverbial early riser but as and when I can, I try and soak up some Vitamin D. At the risk of sounding cliché.

I think it is also extremely important to drink loads of water throughout the day. It makes sense. To keep away from deep-fried food, carbonated drinks and excess sweets. Finally, fish is what keeps my skin glowing and my hair glossy.

Neha Dhupia:
Fitness is a way of life for me. Working out and excercising not only serves as way of staying fit but also helps you focus on yourself and channelise your thoughts. I don’t stick to just going to the gym, but play a sport, do yoga and swim. We should also try to workout more outdoors because it serves as a break from our indoor city-driven life.

Nandana Sen:
To be truly fit we need to feel good about ourselves — be emotionally, physically, and spiritually healthy! It’s also important to choose a recreational activity you enjoy. I adore bicycle rides and long walks on the beach. If I’m near a pool or lake, I go swimming. If I’m near a mountain, I go hiking. If I’m in a party town, I go dancing! And I feel fitter than ever if I get eight hours of sleep and eight glasses of water.

Sameera Reddy:
I drink loads of water. Every one hour I either have water or a glass of fresh juice. I don’t like too much of work outs in summers but I take a 45-minute walk and start my day with yoga to keep my body fit and mind calm.

Salman Khan:
Don’t starve yourself and don’t over- exercise. Always maintain a balanced diet and make sure you exercise to keep your body fit all the time. An unfit body is the root of all problems. Physical fitness leads to confidence as well as good health.

What make Sameera smile!

Sameera Reddy’s smiling these days. Could be because of the compliments flowing her way, since.

She revealed a fitter and trimmer self, but those close to the actress insist that there’s another reason for that glow.

The actress is all excited about her forthcoming film that’ll see her on the Bollywood big screen after quite a while.

And like her outing the last time in Race, this time around too she’s looking forward to tickling the audience’s funny bone.

“I think with Race, I discovered another facet to my acting comedy.

And now with De Dana Dan, I am happy exploring that genre again.

It’s quite a change from the emotional romantic dramas and I really enjoy.

It since comedy comes easy to me,” says sexy Sam about her love for this genre.

But are we going to see her do some sexy hot numbers any time soon? “Yes, very soon,” adds Sameera, refusing to divulge any more details. Well, Sam, comic or sexy, your fans can’t wait to see you scorch the big screen again.
