5 months old Sanjay Dutt's son makes his debut

5 months old Sanjay Dutt's son makes his debutDavid Dhawan is over the moon. He directed Shahraan's papa in his own debut as director. The kiddo will now feature in dad's maiden production!

Life has come full circle for David Dhawan. He debuted as a director with Taqatwar starring Sanjay Dutt. On Monday, he took the first shot of Sanju's son Shahraan for Rascals.

"He's barely five months old but is very comfortable on the sets. He's at Mehboob Studios every evening with his two nannies and spends time on Sanju's, David's and Lisa Haydon's laps until wrap- up."

In fact, when producer Indra Kumar showed up on the sets to get Sanju's dates for Dhamaal 2, he was struck by the li'l one's looks and resemblance to Sanju.

He jokingly said he'd give a signing amount for Shahraan at that moment, sensing he had the makings of a star.

"Not one to be outdone, Dhawan piped in to point out that Rascals was a Dutt Production and he was directing. Why let anyone else direct Shahraan for his first shot?

He quickly took an impromptu shot of Shahraan on Dutt's lap, stating he'd use it somewhere in the film either during opening or end credits."

Says David, "I love having Shahraan on the sets. I want to see him every day now. He reminds me so much of Sanju in his looks, eyes and persona. He looks exactly like his father."

Lisa Haydon in Sanjay Dutt's next

Lisa Haydon in Sanjay Dutt's nextAfter Aisha, supermodel Lisa Haydon has now been signed for Sanjay Dutt's home production being directed by David Dhawan. It took three connoisseurs of feminine beauty Dutt, Devgn and David to pull her out of hiding after her last release.

According to sources, Lisa's role has been specially written and added to the script. It was Dhawan who spotted her in a picture and suggested to Sanju that she be included in Rascals. Dutt readily agreed. Lisa flew in to Bangkok this week.

The director admits she was a late entry. "I saw Lisa's picture and found her very striking. She is paired opposite both Sanjay Dutt and Ajay Devgn. Don't ask who gets Lisa at the end. Both Sanju and Ajay are Rascals. And if you count me as the third rascal we're quite a badmaash threesome."

The director says he is not bothered about her last film being a fiasco, "These things don't bother me. When Katrina did Maine Kyun Pyar Kiya with me she already a Boom behind her. We're all trying to create an entertaining comedy here in Bangkok. It's Sanju's first production and we all want everything to go well." With such glamorous company, Mrs Dhawan has made sure she is in Bangkok.

Sanjay shuns alcohol

Sanjay shuns firewaterWhen your waist grows bigger than your fan club, it is time to press the panic button. A chastened Sanjay Dutt, fresh from the experience of fatherhood, is glowing with a new found resolve to battle his bulge and win back his lost ground in the industry.

On the sets of David Dhawan's Rascals in Bangkok, the original hunk of Bollywood is looking slimmer, fresher and speaks of how he quit alcohol to get his groove back. Says Dutt, "I just let myself go. I don't know why, but I guess it was a crazy time with my jail term, the case and everything. I had given up my gym secessions and had these crazy all-night drinking bouts.

But when I got the feedback about how flabby I was looking on screen, I was very disappointed with myself."The unsparing criticism had Dutt thinking. It helped of course that during the shooting of All The Best, Ajay Devgn convinced the star that it was time for him to get his act together. "That's when I thought I had to bounce back.

At the stroke of midnight on December 31, I looked at myself in the mirror decided this is it. I have not had a drop of alcohol since then." Dutt, who weighed a hefty 110 kg at that time, ha now dropped to 91kg. "I hope to hit 87 kg soon," he smiles confidently. But it is not easy to fight back when you are 50, is it? Dutt agrees. "When you are young, your metabolism is high and if you gym regularly if you are fit.

However after 45, it's very difficult. I am on a diet (grilled chicken and salads) and I work out regularly." Dutt goes back to his Saajan days to give us a glimpse of what to expect. "Give me six months," he says. "And you will see the old Sanjay Dutt with the fabulous body everyone used to rave about." We are waiting!

Sanjay Dutt to quit embracing gutkha

Sanjay Dutt to quit embracing gutkha'Munnabhai' of Bollywood, Sanjay Dutt is seting the groundwork to go certifiable ‘Gandhigiri’ route by ceasing from embracing gutka and other tobacco units. The performer has a colossal fan taking after and most of them are adolescents, who emulates him aimlessly. Freshly, a various specialists in Mumbai composed a letter to the Bollywood star urging him to stay at a distance from underwriting such unsafe units on account of green crop gets effectively manipulated by the proposed supports.

They also reminded him that his own mother Nargis had been a victim of cancer so he should stay away from these harmful products and should promote the campaign against cancer, which was started by his late father Sunil Dutt. Sanjay has realized his social responsibility and has announced that he would not sign any new tobacco endorsements apart from those he has already signed and is committed. He has understood that his endorsement can badly affect the young and impressionable minds.

As per the sources close to Sanju Baba, he read some newspaper reports, which indicated that doctors are urging him to stop promoting gutka. The source added that Sanjay has decided not to renew his contract with the gutka brand. The 51-year-old actor is planning to quit smoking, so that he can set a healthy example for his kids and the young generation. However, this will happen gradually and will take some time.

Dr. Pankaj Chaturvedi of Tata Memorial hospital has expressed their gratitude saying that it means a lot for the doctors that Dutt has been influenced by their campaign. We hope other actors also follow Sanjay and quit smoking to set a very good example for the young generation, who follow them blindly!

Kangana ranaut & Sanjay Dutt in Koffee with Karan

Kangana ranaut & Sanjay Dutt in Koffee with Karan togatherIn what can easily be deemed the funniest Koffee with Karan episode, Anil Kapoor came out to claim that Sanjay Dutt is in fact his senior. The duo joined Karan Johar on the couch as they spoke all things movies and No Problem, their movie that released this past Friday. The buddies, who didn't work together for the first time until much later in Musafir, bared their souls as they spoke about being fathers, acting and working in the industry. Anil Kapoor explained his picky choosy nature while Sanjay Dutt spoke about his bindaas attitude to life and films. Anil said he found having a daughter in the industry "great but stressful" referring to Sonam Kapoor of course. New Dad Sanjay, spoke at length about being a father all over again and his relationship with strayed daughter Trishala.

Joining them was Kangna Ranaut who came on midway and was advised by Sanjay Dutt to wear more traditional wear as opposed to the designer gown she adorned. She too spoke volumes about her past relationships, married men, plastic surgery – which she flat out denied and flirting! In fact, she went on to reveal that she has tried "talking" to Akshaye Khanna, her co-star in No Problem, several times and was ignored. "He doesn’t talk!" she exclaimed. However, she did say that her new best friend in the industry was Sushmita Sen with whom she shares a warm relationship. Anil Kapoor went on to add that he simply loved Sen’s "morning hugs" while Sanju added that Sen still manages to out speak him.

All talk turned to the common factor: Madhuri Dixit. Favorite co-star Anil Kapoor said he didn’t like to hear anything negative about her while alleged ex-flame Sanjay Dutt said she should head home to the kids instead of working in films and on television. It was the latter that won the Rapid Fire round despite Anil’s honest and witty answers.

In other news, No Problem has been deemed a complete washout. So disappointed were the star of the films that they all refused to attend the pre-planned Success Bash. Instead, they all claimed they were busy with other plans. In turn, the party was cancelled. Next week, Karan will chat with on and off lovers Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra.

Sanjay Dutt against Madhuri’s comeback!

There are millions who would die to see their dhak dhak girl Madhuri Dixit act in movies again except for Sanjay Dutt!

Sanju baba as he is fondly called, would rather have Madhuri concentrate on her family life instead!

“Madhuri and I have worked in lot of films together. Today she is married, is a mother of two lovely children, is a housewife. She should focus on her family life.

I saw her film ‘Aaja Nachle’ and felt sorry for her. She should retire from films completely” said Sanjay Dutt frankly.

There were rumours of Madhuri doing Meghna Gulzar’s next but nothing more is known as of now about Madhuri’s comeback in Bollywood. We wonder what’s going on in Madhuri’s mind about movies, considering she is still wanted by her fans worldwide. Don’t we miss this lady’s beautiful million dollar smile!

Ranbir beats SRK!

Shah Rukh Khan might be the undisputed King of Bollywood, but it's Ranbir Kapoor who reigns in the world of PR strategy and popularity.

In a survey conducted by Eikona, the Specialised Content and PR Measurement Evaluation Unit division of TAM (Television Audience Measurement)

Across four cities of Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata and Bangalore, Ranbir Kapoor has got the maximum votes - 39 points out of 40.

As the top actor who has garnered maximum publicity because of the publicity campaign generated for Wake Up Sid.

Sanjay Dutt is a close second at (37). But strangely, SRK is at the bottom of the list.

(on number 10) in terms of PR and media coverage managing only 4 points out of 40.

Even the media-shy Salman Khan beats SRK with a score of 21 while Aamir tops Salman with 25. Hrithik Roshan comes third with a score of 32.

So what's the reason for this Kapoor boy's popularity? Ranbir tells a daily, "I really don't know if I should be thankful or apologetic about it. I guess it's also because of the multiplex strike that three films of mine are releasing back to back. But I will make a conscious effort next time to space my releases."

In an interview to a daily, Karan Johar says, "If Ranbir tops the list it's because of his publicity done for Wake Up Sid for which I would like to thank his efficient publicist. I would also thank Ranbir for being so supportive about our PR strategy.

Both Ranbir, my publicist, publicity designer Divya and Ayaan (Mukherjee) have all worked to promote and project Ranbir and Wake Up Sid the correct manner. If Ranbir has created a buzz it's because we have targeted the demography of the youth and we all know that the youth dictates a large section of viewing audiences today. It's all about youth power."

Surprisingly, Karan's best friend Shah Rukh is seen at the bottom of the list. KJo defends SRK, "Shah Rukh is above any ratings. He won't come under any ratings. He is a national and international icon and not to be put into these ratings. Which product won't sell if Shah Rukh endorses it? He's almost the face of the entertainment world above and beyond ratings."
